Kevin Doell

Kevin Doell is a seasoned communications professional who has driven communication programs for the U.S. Army, the world’s largest real estate franchisor, as well as a large, private utility serving the public interest in Metro NYC. Since 1996, Doell has developed expertise in all facets of communications and public relations, from print and Web mediums, to brand management and sales, to issue advocacy and crisis communications featured on national broadcast segments. Doell has also developed marketing programs and collateral for several service firms and local businesses.

Before supporting the U.S. Army’s PEO Soldier organization, Doell served as senior director, communications and public relations, for Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate LLC. In this role, Doell was responsible for standing up all aspects of the new brand’s communications function and social media strategy, as well as developing marketing communications content for print, Web, event, and video distribution channels. In addition, Doell drove the company’s green corporate social responsibility platform that includes non-profit partnerships, consumer research, training, and vendor relationship management. His appointment came after Realogy Corporation, the world’s largest real estate brokerage franchisor, signed a 50-year licensing agreement with Meredith Corporation (NYSE: MDP) to build a new, international residential real estate franchise company under the Better Homes and Gardens® Real Estate brand. The new brand launched its franchise system in the residential real estate marketplace in July 2008. Doell came to the position with more than a decade of communications experience.

Previously, Doell served as director of corporate communications for the Realogy Franchise Group, parent company of leading real estate brands Better Homes and Gardens® Real Estate, CENTURY 21®, Coldwell Banker®, Coldwell Banker Commercial®, ERA® and Sotheby’s International Realty®. In this capacity, Doell provided primary communications support to the franchise group CEO and was the senior editor on all brand press releases. In addition, Doell was a key architect of the Realogy.com corporate Web site and drove employee communications initiatives for Realogy’s 13,000 employees.

Prior to joining Realogy, Doell managed media relations for United Water Suez, a privately held utility that provides water and wastewater services to 7 million people in 20 states. During his tenure at United Water, Doell also served as publications editor and multimedia designer, responsible for producing consumer and employee communications.

As a captain in the U.S. Army Reserve, Doell was recalled to active duty post 9-11 to serve as an intelligence officer at Central Command Headquarters in Tampa, Fla., during the combat phase of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He earned a Joint Commendation Medal for his year of service. Doell originally earned his commission through the Army R.O.T.C. program at Rutgers University. He served on active duty at Fort Huachuca, Ariz., and at Fort Lewis, Wash., where he was the executive officer for a brigade headquarters detachment, an operations staff officer and an electronics warfare officer.

Doell earned his M.A. in Humanities and Social Thought from New York University, a B.A. in English from Rutgers University, and completed the NYU S.C.P.S. intensive in film production. He also completed the U.S. Army’s Military Intelligence Officer Basic Course.

Doell resides with his wife and family on “Little Big Farm” in Warren County, N.J., and stays active in his community through coaching youth soccer.
